Speech of the Co-Chairman of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council Sergii Kuzyara

at the plenary meeting of the Beijing Bilateral Business Forum / joint meeting of the UCBC

Dear First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Mr. Stepan Kubiv!

Dear chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Mrs. Gao Yang!

Dear President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine Hennadii Chizhikov!

Dear Co-Chairman of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council Mr. Zhan Hunbin!

Dear forum participant, ladies and gentlemen!

It is a great honor and a great pleasure for me to take part in this grand forum that summarizes the joint work of Ukraine and China on the development of bilateral business cooperation in 2018 and defines the objectives, prospects, directions and pace of expansion and deepening of the Ukrainian-Chinese strategic partnership in trade and economic and other critical areas for the coming period.

Our forum takes place in the year of the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the reform and openness policy launched by China leadership, as well as in the year of the 5th anniversary of the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping, "One Belt - One Road".

The fact that I am here heading the delegation of the Ukrainian part of the Joint Business Council as its new chairperson and new co-chairperson of the Business Council makes my participation in the forum and the joint meeting of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council special.

At the General Meeting of the Ukrainian part of the Joint Business Council, where I was elected as a new chairman, I expressed my vision and understanding of the current tasks facing the Business Council as a constantly operating platform for communication between the business communities of our two countries: more business and more interaction!

Because only specific practical results achieved in close cooperation between partners is the only measure, the only indicator of the efficiency of our bilateral cooperation, efficiency of strategic agreements between the two leaders of the two countries in the economy!

The business communities of our two countries have a tremendous partnership potential. It seems that there is a need for more joint activity, and at all stages of the cooperation process: at the stage of initiation and development of joint interstate decisions, at the stage of their consideration and approval, and, of course, at the stage of joint implementation of the decisions taken.

I am convinced that our current forum will be a vivid confirmation of the mutual desire of the business communities of Ukraine and the People's Republic of China to more efficient and more effective cooperation in the name of achieving the high goals of improving the lives of present and future generations of our friendly nations!

I express the hope of the Ukrainian business community that this meeting of like-minded people will receive a permanent status and I wish the long happy destiny to the Beijing Chinese-Ukrainian business forum, and fruitful successful work to all of us!

Thank you for your attention!
