The first meeting of the newly elected members of the Coordinating Committee of the Ukrainian Part of the joint Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council was held on November 29, 2018.
During the meeting, the members of the Coordinating Committee summed up the results of the work in 2018 and planned the work for 2019.
In particular, following the renewal of the leadership of the UCBC Ukrainian Part in 2018, the Ukrainian delegation took part in the First Shanghai International Import Exhibition (November 5-10th), the large-scale Beijing Business Forum (November 8th) and in negotiations with leadership of the UCBC Chinese Part (November 9th).
Ukrainian delegation in China numbered more than 200 representatives of business and state structures, and held high-level meetings.
"During the visit we agreed on new approaches to interaction of business circles of both countries, held a series of talks with representatives of private and state Chinese companies which are committed to the cooperation with Ukrainian business structures in the field of agriculture and food industry, in fuel and energy and metallurgical industries. The Chinese side's representation was very high. The partners assured us that opportunities to participate in tenders, public procurement in China are open to Ukrainian business, and they are ready to develop business projects in Ukraine in several ways," highlighted Chairman of the UCBC Ukrainian Part Sergii Kuzyara during a meeting of the Coordinating Committee.
As a result of the negotiations, a number of bilateral documents (memorandums of understanding) on cooperation of the Association of Ukrainian-Chinese Strategic Partnership with Chinese partners were signed. They also agreed to hold annual joint meetings of both UCBC Parts and are considering the creation of a joint UCBC Secretariat and a joint website.
In 2019, the Ukrainian Part of the Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council plans to significantly intensify its work.
The action plan will include holding a bilateral conference dedicated to the twenty-seventh anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the People's Republic of China in cooperation with the Association of Sinologists of Ukraine and the Chinese Trade Association, organization of a series of trips to the regions of Ukraine to present the UCBC opportunities to local businesses and involvement of local entrepreneurs in the business council.
The UCBC Ukrainian Part together with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine plans to accompany the participation of Ukrainian companies in the Canton Fair, COFAIR-2019, CIFIT-2019, COTTM-2019 exhibitions in China, etc. and to offer highly specialized presentations and exhibitions for Chinese companies in Ukraine.
The internal organization system of the UCBC Ukrainian Part will be significantly reformed: Committees on cooperation areas, in particular, on tourism, energy, agricultural sector, etc. will be created.
UCBC will initiate a joint meeting with the leadership of the Group of Inter-Parliamentary Relations with China of the Parliament of Ukraine, the participation in the VIth Session of the Ukrainian-Chinese Sub-Commission on Trade and Economy Cooperation Commission between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the People's Republic of China. The possible participation in the composition of Public Councils under the ministries dealing with foreign economic contacts will be considered. The UCBC Ukrainian Part intends to work actively on the solution for the creation of the Trade Representation of Ukraine in China.
