August 28, 2015 the leaders of the Ukrainian part of UCBC Robert Brovdi and Igor Lytvyn held a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine to China Oleg Dyomin and Minister-Counsellor for economic and commercial affairs of the Embassy Viktor Tanasiichuk. The meeting was held at the Embassy of Ukraine to China. In particular, it was summed up the preliminary results of the working visit to China of the delegation of the Ukrainian part of UCBC, discussed future plans of the interaction of the Ukrainian Embassy, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Ukrainian part of UCBC as well as "Ukrainian house" in Beijing on the one hand and ССРІТ of China and the Chinese part of UCBC on the other hand.
It was also negotiated the organization of joint promotional and communication activities in order to improve the interaction between business circles of Ukraine and China. The meeting participants agreed on co-ordination of the efforts and actions as to preparing the Ukrainian exposition and arranging the Day of Ukraine at the Seventh China Overseas Investment Fair which will be held on October 22-23, 2015 at the Beijing exhibition center.
The significant conclusion of the eight-day visit of the delegation of the Ukrainian part of UCBC to Beijing was the meeting with the Deputy Director (Vice-Minister) of the International Department of Central Committee of Communist Party of China Mr. Zhou Li held on August 31, 2015.
Mr. Zhou Li, a former Chinese Ambassador in Ukraine (2007-2010), an old and sincere friend of our country, a supporter of intensive dialogue and close co-operation between two states, made huge personal efforts for the strengthening of bilateral relations and concluding the Treaty of friendship and co-operation between Ukraine and China.
During the talks it was discussed the economic and political situation in Ukraine, the Ukrainian party expressed appreciation for the principle position of China on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The parties exchanged views on the existing problems in bilateral trade and economic relations, first of all, regarding the attraction of the Chinese investment and credit resources to Ukraine. Among other things, Mr. Zhou Li was informed about the renewal of the Ukrainian part of UCBC and it was planned joint activities of the Business Council. Following the meeting, the parties also stated that the work of the Joint Ukrainian-Chinese Business Council would continue to have high political support in China and that its format was considered to be a priority for the dialogue and co-operation of business circles of Ukraine and China at the highest level.
